Space

The dictionary could not hold the weight of the word,
When she opened her mouth to say it.
As her tongue slurred,
Along the edges of her dry mouth.
While her vision blurred,
Under the hot afternoon sky.
And the engine of her car whirred,
As she pressed the accelerator.
She purred,
Smoothly.
And it stirred,
All the very many misconceptions,
About her in the world.
